The Ontario Elementary Teachers` Federation (ETFO) has announced plans to hold a one-day visit on Monday, January 20, 2020, unless an agreement is reached by Friday, January 17. The collective agreements for etFO and OSSTF expired on August 31, 2019. On Wednesday, all OcDSB elementary and secondary schools were closed due to a one-day strike by the Ontario High School Teachers` Federation. OcDSB notes that OSSTF represents teaching and support staff in primary schools and forces the board of directors to close primary schools for the day. The Carleton District School Board of Ottawa says all elementary schools will be closed on Monday if THE ETFO continues with plans for the one-day strike.
